Crochet Crush
Lately I've been taking a break from social media + my shop. (I kinda need to do this a lot lately) I've been spending my time watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries + making granny squares. Thanks to the power of YouTube, I have finally taught myself to crochet! It has always been a dream of mine to make an afghan.
My daughter requested I make her a Twilight Sparkle granny square, which turned in to her picking out this pretty yarn and me working on my very first afghan. I'm excited to make this for her since I never finished knitting the baby blanket I tried to make while I was pregnant. >_<
Here are a few of my favorite crochet YouTube channels (so far):
Potter & Bloom
Jayda in Stitches (which is where I learned how to make a granny square.)
Vickie Howell (where I learned the basics!)
Do you crochet? What are some of your favorite resources + books?

I don't crochet as much as I knit, which I can't even bear to do right now because it's just too hot for me, but I do love making granny squares, and I love the colors of this yarn. I think the afghan is going to turn out so cute, and I can't wait to see it finished! Also, I am so interested in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. I've seen some posts about it on tumblr and it's been added to my list of shows to give a try. Right now, though, I'm trying to finish up Glee.
ReplyDeleteI've been keeping my AC turned down these days. If it's cool enough to wear a cardigan I'm happy and can crochet in peace >_< I found crochet to be so much faster than knitting and I'm excited to make more afghans after this one. I loved Glee! Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is awesome, but I'm a huge fan of the 20's and mysteries, so hook, line + sinker! :)
DeleteWhat yarn is this? It look familiar, but I don't know what it is.
