About

Hello Quirky Design was forged out of the desire to communicate the magic of simplicity, and capture the whimsies and quirks of everyday life.
Shawna graduated from Angelo State University in 2006, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She has worked in a couple fun ceramic studios + taught in the private art studio, Once Upon an Artist. In 2006 + 2007, you could find her work in several local galleries. She made her online debut in November of 2013 via Storenvy under the name Scrawny Girl, where she began selling dolls + doing custom illustration work for several small businesses including: Lu and Ed, Cotton Candy Eco Cloth, Sugarcrumbs, Kiser Krafts, and Little House of Crafting. In early 2015, she decided to change her business name to Hello Quirky and expand to selling on Etsy. Over the past several years, she has created a sticker of the month club, a kawaii card line, and quirky wearable art. She’s collaborated with the International Geek Girls Pen Pal Club, NovelTea Book Club, various chapters of Geek Girl Brunch, and Melanie Gipson of Violet's Buds.
Shawna was born and raised in Texas. As a kid she spent her time dancing to New Kids on the Block, collecting Lisa Frank stationary, and drawing unicorns (things that still inspire and spark joy today). When she’s not creating, you can find her dying her hair pink, making coffee, and playing on the swings with her daughters.

Here on the Hello Quirky blog, you will find plenty of artists and creative folk to fall in love with, HQ shop updates + an insider look at running a small business as an artist, plus tidbits of my life + the things I love. Only positive vibes here!
